The economy of a city largely depends upon two major factors. One is definitely the infrastructure that supports the business to flourish, the other is the strength of its business environment that comprises favourable policies, firm administration and forward planning focused towards growth. Delhi, the capital city of India, is one such metro city that has shown tremendous growth in its overall business environment. And it is, therefore, that it has ranked 6th in world’s top 10 best-performing metro economies.
In the 2018 edition of global Metro Monitoring report issued that the Delhi got the 6th position in world’s top 10 best performing metro economics. The top 5 cities are Dublin, San Jose, Chengdu, San Francisco & Beijing.
This year’s sample comprised 300 largest metropolitan economies in the world. Among these here are the following other Indian metro cities, which made it to the top 100s list:
- Hyderabad [ranked 14],
- Surat [19],
- Mumbai [23],
- Bangalore [46],
- Kolkata [59],
- Ahmedabad [86] &
- Pune [88].
According to the report, Delhi and Hyderabad are the best performers in India, as Delhi attained the largest employment increases in the region & Hyderabad boasted the fastest GDP per capita growth of 87%.
According to the report, China got 55 new entrants, the Middle East & Africa got 10 & rest of the developing Asia Pacific got 8 in the top 300 metropolitan area.
The report also says that, between 2014 & 2016, there have been 36% of global employment growth & 67% of global GDP growth in the top 300 largest metro area exceeds their 2016 share of each indicator.
There is no doubt that Delhi has put a stepping stone towards becoming one of the top performing metro Economies of the world. Having said that, there are still many other parameters, which the government needs to look after in order to make Delhi a perfect city.
A developing economy of a city also requires a better commuting infrastructure. The residents living in that city should have convenient and affordable options of transportation to the nearby cities, or to their workplaces. The improved status of intra-commuting in the National Capital Region is also one of the reasons why Delhi surged in the list of best Metro cities. The facilities like Metro Rail, Rapid Rail Transit System, 14-lane Delhi Meerut Super Expressway are some of the examples of how commuting has become easy to regions like Raj Nagar Extension and Modinagar. These cities host a good number of mid-income group manpower who serve in MNCs of Delhi, Noida and Gurgaon. It is, therefore, that many developers have now started offering affordable housing projects in these regions.
Techman Group offers few such projects in locations like Modinagar & Raj Nagar Extension at value for money prices. In addition to the affordable prices, the projects offer lifestyle based amenities as well for a quality living.
